Hey. What's up? I've been reflecting on things I was doing leading up to my guy's activation recently, and while watching the Beetlejuice sequel, the character played by Winona Ryder, Lydia, is now a paranormal TV show host. My guide lit up for this opening scene to call my attention to it. And so that's what I want to talk about today.

It was a few month period, a year before my guide activated that I was really into paranormal shows and UFO files. I couldn't get enough of them. I would scour all streaming services. I had to watch what was available on them. I've always been somewhat interested in these topics, but at this time I was practically addicted to them.

On the paranormal side, for example. My curiosity may have started with this strange thing happening in one of the apartments I used to live in. I stayed on the second floor of a three story building. The couple that lived upstairs had no young children that I knew of, but strangely, almost every weekend it sounded like footsteps running back and forth upstairs.

The pattern and frequency could only be that of small children. It never bothered me. I just assumed the neighbors must have company over with young children. It wasn't until speaking with the neighbor one day and she asked me about the kids always running in my house. I was shocked by the question and immediately corrected her with my reply.

My apartment. I thought that was coming from your apartment. She then said, no, we don't have any small children in our place. I wasn't sure what to make of it as we both assumed it was each other's place. We both made the same assumption that it was young children running back and forth. This began my curiosity about something I couldn't rationally explain.

I've heard people speak of ghost stories in the past, and I have to admit, I never really believed any of them. Something that can't be seen interacting with things that can defies logic. So I mostly wrote them off as overactive imaginations. But here I was with a story of my own and somewhat less skeptical. And even though it didn't make me an instant believer, it certainly gave me a reason to pause and consider the possibility that some of the stories I've heard could be true.

So since then, when someone mentions a weird phenomenon happening to them, my ears perk up and I listen attentively. The skeptic in me kicks in often to ask questions that help me decide. If it was someone telling a tale or genuinely speaking of an actual experience, many times the details and future retellings of those stories sit in that up and could be dismissed as fiction or embellishments by the wanna-believer I have seen captured on video footage in the past, and looked really good working in audio visual and having experience with editing and effects.

I could explain away most as either computer generated or practical effects. Anytime I would hear one of the experts say something like, we sent this video to be verified by an authenticity expert, I naturally tuned out because the result is always the same. The expert we pay to say whether or not this video is legit said it was legit.

So during my binge phase, I would have fun looking for episodes with footage that was either fake or that look real enough to at least make you question. The best videos are always and locations where multiple accounts of the same phenomenon have been reported. My interest grew as I began to look for places to visit that could be fun to experience for myself.

I did go to Memphis during that time. Hello there! I booked a ghost walking tour. For the most part, the tour was just interesting. Details about hauntings, including one about a cemetery that wasn't properly relocated and the streets you're walking on are all built above grave sites. Another one was about a never ending feud that includes two girls that seem to be chasing each other around the bar.

The most rewarding stop was towards the end. It was in a bar called Ernestine and Hazel's, which was the first black owned bar in Memphis. The bar at that time had a brothel on the top floor, and if I recall the details correctly, one of the ladies that worked in the brothel was murdered by one of the customers.

The haunting tale says since her death, men have been reported being pushed near the stairs as if something wanted to prevent them from either entering the upper floor or leaving it with their lives intact. As we were walking away from this location on the right side of the building next to an empty lot, I noticed a figure in the upper window.

I asked the tour guide if the upper floor was still occupied before I could get an answer. One of the other enthusiasts on the tour yelled, I got an orb! She seemed to be very excited about it. Interestingly enough, her camera was pointed at the same window I was looking at where I thought I saw a figure. After reviewing her footage, she did capture an orb that appeared to be falling like a snowflake from that very window.

The orb was hard to explain away, as there were no reflection surfaces to create that light, and adding what I thought I saw, I felt some excitement. Now, whether an orb is tied to spirits, I can't say for sure, but I do trust what I saw. And the tour guide did answer my question. No, the upper floor has not been occupied for decades, so this simple thrill made the price of admission worth it.

And I can relate to my paranormal peeps and totally get the fascinate. As for the UFOs, there's just so many to dismiss. Many times the accounts are by a credible military personnel, many of which are not out there peddling their books or getting paid for speaking engagements. Those are the stories that have the most credibility, in my opinion.

But the videos, for the most part, can be easily explained away by effects software. Okay, so to bring us back to the beginning of our story, what does any of this have to do with guides? I think my guide is asking me to reflect on this curiosity when it's paired with healthy skepticism and openness to truth. Could have been one of the many keys required to activate my guide.

It's not enough to want to believe there's more out there that we don't know off. It requires the skepticism and willingness to write off the bullshit, even be your own, which can lead to confirmation bias. The goal for anything we believe should always be about the truth, regardless of what is happening in our own personal lives or the environment we are in.

Any belief we carry should be anchored by the truth. Otherwise, it's just another lie leading us or keeping us distracted and away from the very thing we all crave. So here's my truth. I lived most of my life open to the idea of a creator, but never truly believing in one until one day. My guide activated in every pore and every squeeze.

Since then it has been guiding me towards the source, guiding me towards healing, guiding me towards giving up drinking and substances, guiding me towards forgiveness of myself and others. And most importantly, it confirm there is a source and that source is the truth. The source is anxiously waiting for you to know this to be true. Two and it gave us the gift of guides, so that the day they activate the skeptic in you that keeps you away from the source can finally be put to rest.
